Robert Tinajero,

Scholarship Committee President

5601 Campus Dr., Ft. Worth, TX 76119

Dear Mr.Tinajero,

My name is Britney Freeney, I am a college Junior attending Paul Quinn college. I recently heard about your service leadership scholarship, and my letter will let you know why I am a qualified candidate.I have good leadership skills and my proof of this is because of my past and present.

In middle school I was voted vice president for the National Honors Society and when I made it to high school I was voted president for the National Honors society my sophomore year.  My roles as an elected official were to organize meetings and at the end of each year I would help put together a community service project for the program. My strong leadership skills convinced me to run for Class President. In the spring of 2008 I was announced the Bryan Adams class president of the upcoming 2009 school year.  I helped raised money for my high school and came up with infinite solutions to fix our school problems. The Taks test was a challenge to seniors trying to graduate high school. I invented after school tutoring programs to enhance the skills that students needed to pass the test. My class made history that year because 90% of my class graduated high school.

I served as a member of the Dallas Student Teen Board and our objectives was to fix problems not only in our high schools, but our community. We served on numerous community service projects. We visited and helped out nursing homes, we joined with the habitat for humanity and helped build houses, and we talked to at risk teenagers about changing their lives. I have served as a leader on several occasions. My high school principals and teachers still contact me to help guide the upcoming class presidents because of my previous success.

I have excelled in leadership and community services opportunities. I would be worthy of this scholarship because I have the skill work and experience. Furthering my education would make me a better leader because I still have a lot of learning to do. Thank you in advance for allowing me to have this opportunity.

Sincerely,

Britney Freeney
